Dunn commits to Blackburn Rovers until 2012
• 'I think everyone is aware what this club means to me'• 'The run of form I have had has been a big boost'The Blackburn Rovers midfielder David Dunn has signed a new two and a half year contract, the club have announced. The deal ties the 30-year-old to Rovers until summer 2012.Dunn has been one of Blackburn's best performers this season and is their highest scorer with six goals, five of which have been scored in the Premier League."I'm obviously very pleased to commit my future to the club. I've been itching to get something done for quite a while," said Dunn, who was born locally in Great Harwood and returned to his former club from Birmingham in 2007 when offered the chance by then manager Mark Hughes."There were other options but I think everyone is aware what this club means to me. I've been away before and I didn't like it so this is the place I want to be playing. I'm pleased things have been done and I can concentrate just on playing football now."Dunn, who missed much of last season with niggling injuries, has been an integral part of manager Sam Allardyce's team this season and has managed to stay fit for most of the campaign so far. "I'm really pleased with how things have gone this year," he told Rovers Player."The run of form I have had lately has been a big boost to me and one I want to carry on. The goals are going in and other than the little blip just before Christmas the appearances have been going up and hopefully I can play an important part until the end of the season."Blackburn Roversguardian.co.uk © Guardian News & Media Limited 2010 | Use of this content is subject to our Terms & Conditions | More Feeds
