Ivanovic poised to extend Chelsea stay
• Agent denies rumours linking player to Juventus• Ivanovic joined Chelsea from Lokomotiv Moscow in 2008Branislav Ivanovic is close to signing a contract extension with Chelsea, according to his agent. The Serbia defender has been linked in Italy with a move to Juventus in the winter transfer window, where he would link up with his compatriot Milos Krasic. However, Ivanovic's agent, Vlado Borozan, vehemently denied those rumours."There is no truth regarding contact between Ivanovic and Juve," Borozan said."Those rumours are without foundation. I believe the link may have been made due to the fact that my partner [Dejan] Joksmovic is Krasic's agent and that Ivanovic's contract will expire in June 2011. "But the lad is about to sign a contract extension with Chelsea so I really don't think he will be moving away."Ivanovic, 26, joined Chelsea from Lokomotiv Moscow in January 2008.Chelseaguardian.co.uk © Guardian News & Media Limited 2010 | Use of this content is subject to our Terms & Conditions | More Feeds guardian.co.uk |
