• ESPN: 'He is doing well and we expect him back soon'• Presenter thanks everyone for their concernSports presenter Ray Stubbs was released from hospital this morning after he was taken ill during ESPN's live coverage of the Boxing Day Premier League fixture between Liverpool and Wolves.Stubbs, who joined the satellite channel earlier this year after more than two decades with the BBC, was not in his chair for the usual half-time analysis, with ESPN explaining he had been taken ill. But today he was recovering after spending the night in hospital. An ESPN spokesperson said: "He was released from hospital this morning, is doing well and we expect him to be back on the air soon."Stubbs's overnight stay was believed to be precautionary, while his absence from television screens is not expected to be a long one.Football pundit Mark Bright was in contact with Stubbs and wrote on his Twitter site that the presenter had thanked everyone for their concern, and that he looked forward to returning to work soon.Premier LeagueESPNguardian.co.uk © Guardian News & Media Limited 2009 | Use of this content is subject to our Terms & Conditions | More Feeds
